Join us for this month’s Aspen Grove Book Club as we dive into Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro is a dystopian novel narrated by Kathy H., a carer for organ donors who are revealed to be clones created for that purpose. The story, set in a near-future England, explores their childhood at Hailsham, a seemingly idyllic boarding school, and their later lives as they come to terms with their predetermined fate of organ donation and eventual “completion” (death). The novel delves into themes of love, loss, the nature of humanity, and the ethical implications of scientific advancements.
