Paint a Masterpiec , Sunday June 7, 1-4 pm. The Great Wave by Katsushika Hokusai. This was the rave at the time. Impressionist took note of the designs of Japanese block prints, incorporating their influence into their impressionistic style. Vincent Van Gogh alone had over 600 block prints in his collection. The Great wave is an important iconic work of art as the many other Japanese wood block prints. Although we will be painting this in acrylic and on canvas it will be a base of learning how this figures into the impressionist movement. All supplies provided. 40.00. A small contribution of 5.00 towards the supplies to instructor at time of class.
